Redbrook Equestrian is running a one day Equine Specific level 2 First Aid Course. Can also be a refresher course for FAW on Monday 20th July. If you would like to do a 3 day course please contact me ASAP.
We have run several of these courses by Promedical over the years and they have been brilliant. Certificates last 3 years.
These courses are Equine specific, designed for human injuries. It is NOT a first aid course for horse injuries.

We have a very kind sweet mare called Gem and 2 weeks ago to our horror Gem had been kicked in the field and sustained a fractured elbow. We are all devastated. Gem is the most beautiful , kind and probably the most favourite pony at Redbrook Equestian
, as I'm sure her young riders would agree. She has taught many children to ride.
Jenny McGregor and Ann-Louise Walker from SWHP on hearing about Gem quickly arrived with slings for us to borrow and the offer to have her there at the SWHP for her recovery. They have a fabulous set up. However, we were frightened to move her in case the fracture moved and so she is here until she is stable enough to be moved.
We are hoping that she will make a full recovery without having to operate on her leg. The vet bills are rising and any money we raise we will split and 50% of it will go to the SWHP . Without their help to stablize Gem her road to recovery would be difficult. We will be having a fund raising day here at Redbrook Equestrian on Saturday 27th July, 4pm till 7pm. with lots to do. including Dog agility demonstration, and your dog can have a go to. Dog show, Raffle, cake stall, and lots more. We will post a list very soon.
Megalina is going to do a sponsored 10 mile run on Friday the 26th anyone who would like to run with her is more than welcome. Anyone who would like to sponser her would be great.
If anyone who would like to come and visit Gem you are more than welcome, she will love the attention.

Since March 2013 we have become part of Coleg Gwent. As an Outreach Center we are able to run the City and Guilds Diploma Level 1 and Level 2. It is open for anyone to join and you will do your training and be assessed here with us. You will enrol as part of the college and have all the benefits of being a student. This is a practical and theoretical course covering basic horse care and/or riding. If you would like to know more about the courses please don't hesitate to get in touch. Good luck to my 19 students whos work has just gone to the IV for assessment.

We are hosting another Equine Specific First Aid Courses here at Redbrook Equestrian on Tuesday 28th August from 9.30 to 4.30. This course is designed for those that have never had any first aid training, or if your qualification has lapsed. Please note this course is for human first aid and not horses. It will suit anybody who has a career with horses or rides for pleasure. It will be informal and fun. Recognised 3 year qualification. Anybody interested in attending please contact me ASAP we have limited places. Cost £60.

Below are the dates for the next set of courses to be run lasting for the next 8 weeks.
These courses are for Riding and Stable management and they last 3hrs, it is possible just to take one or the other, please get in touch for more details.
ABRS test 1 Riding and Stable Management course will start Tuesday the 25th at 10.30am.
ABRS test 2 Riding and Stable Management course started on Thrusday 20th at 6pm. There is still time to start this course, with a small catch up session.
ABRS test 4 Riding and Stable Management will start Wednesday the 26th at 10.30am.

- We had an extremely successful open day today for our Pony Club Centre, well done to the 24 children who achieved their first Pony Club badge. For those that couldn't make it don't worry there is plenty of time to join, please contact us for details.
- Our next pony days are being held on:-
- Tuesday 27th October from 12.30pm til 2.30pm
- Saturday October 31st from 12.00pm til 2.00pm
- Saturday November 7th from 12.00pm til 2.00pm
- Our Adult courses for riding and stable management start 10.00am on Thursday 29th October and run for eight weeks working towards the ABRS tests.
Riding & stable management = £30 per session
Stable management only = £10 per session.
Pay in advance for the whole course and recieve 10% discount.
- We have had a lot of interest in running Stable Management Courses for adults in the evening . If anyone is interested please email or ring Hayley.

Well done to Jemima Griffiths, Emily Bennett and Gideon Howells who went to the Llangibby Pony Club Show Jumping on Sunday the 20th June. They all entered in the team Show Jumping. Jemima took her little pony called Dillon who had never done anything like this before and had a team 4th and a team 2nd (well done Jim). Emily rode Sky from Redbrook Equestrian and had a great day getting two team 1st's. Gideon rode this pony Bronwen and got an Individual 4th, a team 4th, a team 2nd and well done a team 1st. We all had a great day and came home tired, happy and very dirty...
